God has Blessed all of mankind when he made us in His Own Image. He Blessed us, again, when He allowed His only Begotten Son, to be Crucified, assuming all of our sins, so that all men might have life everlasting with Him.
By the Blood of Jesus Christ our sins were forgiven. We are still responsible for our sins, hence, and therefore, in order to have life with Jesus, we must accept that He died on the Cross for our sins; we must confess our sins, and repent; and convert from bad to good. We are told to FORGIVE seven times seventy.
We are taught by Jesus, to LOVE our neighbor as ourselves, and to “forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” In other words… simply said…LOVE your neighbor in the same proportion that we love ourselves; and to FORGIVE our neighbor in the same proportion as we seek forgiveness from Him. Both Love and Forgiveness is a “power that we process.” It is an act that only we can fulfill… no one can do it for us. Forgiveness is the SUPPORTING “act of love, and our gift” to our fellowman.
All too often, those who offended us… are not even aware that they have. Forgiveness is NOT for them; it is for US. Forgiveness is for our “own healing.” By withholding Forgiveness, we are doing our best “to get even.” We must remember that “Vengeance is the Lord’s.” Aren’t we told in Deuteronomy 32:34-36 – ‘Is it not laid up in store with Me, Sealed up in My treasuries? ‘Vengeance is Mine, and retribution, In due time their foot will slip; For the day of their calamity is near, And the impending things are hastening upon them.’ “For the LORD will vindicate His people, And will have compassion on His servants, When He sees that their strength is gone, And there is none remaining, bond or free.
People who “harbor grudges” are ALLOWING “the past” to limit “their future.” As BELIEVERS, we cannot “claim to LOVE” our neighbor unless, and until, we FORGIVE…. It’s that simple. So then, where do you stand? We humans have this tendency to take “just the part” of the Bible that we can live with, and pretty much…IGNOR that part that doesn’t suit us. FORGIVENESS is NOT something that we can “safely ignore.”
Matthew 6:14-15 – “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. “But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. If you believe that God knows every hair on your head, then you MUST take this SERIOUSLY. Moses was punished for “not following” directions, and was forbidden to enter the land of milk and honey.
Many of the characters in the bible were punished for not obeying God, in what seemed to be “minor issues.” Remember in 2 Samuel 6:6-7 – But when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out toward the Ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen nearly upset it. And the anger of the LORD burned against Uzzah, and God struck him down there for his irreverence; and he died there by the ark of God. …Blessings…cjlb …4/15/15.
