“…But, now that I know… I am much more engaging that I thought that I was…”

ENGAGEMENT: When I was growing up… I didn’t even know what “engaging” meant.  Maybe it meant “getting engaged,” …to marry someone.  In 1958 “engage” meant just one thing.  Today, it means about 22 different things.  But, now that I know… I am much more engaging that I thought that I was.  In a broader sense, it could even apply to “net-working.”  At any rate, or by any use of the word… if we expect to be successful leaders of commerce, industry, family, and church… then we must learn the “art of engagement.”  We have to CAPTURE other people’s interest, to be AGREEABLE, to DRAW attention to our product; to ABSORB everything around us; and to CAPTIVATE their attention.  We must EMPLOY every skill necessary to RECRUIT the best people so that they might UNDERTAKE their SHARE of the CATCH.  To PLEGE otherwise, would SNAG failure.  If I could muster up just one word that would better describe engaging (other than the word itself), it would to be: SEEKING.  So… in the Biblical sense, we must go about seeking WISDOM, good COUNSEL, EXPERIENCE, FRIENDSHIP, TRUTH, GUIDENCE, and GOD.   Romams 3:10-11 – “There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who ‘SEEKS’ for God.”…Blessings…cjlb…5/14/14
