I could hear the joy in my wife’s voice.  I overheard my wife telling some friend of hers, that because “someone else” was not at home (when she was seeking some information) that she called this person, instead, and if that other person had been at home (when she called), then she would not have had the opportunity to “visit” with this friend.  I could hear the joy in my wife’s voice when she said…. “Just think, if Sally had been at home, I would not have had such a wonderful time talking with you today.”  I’m sure that my wife’s friend felt the same joy that my wife did.  In fact, I was even glad the lady wasn’t at home too, because I could measure how much fun my wife and her friend had visiting with each other…. And that brought joy to me.  It was contagious.  I thought to myself…. This is a lesson learned; I should learn to “show joy” when I talk to others, instead of “just keeping with the business.”  I know….talking to me over the phone is like a “flat line” on the cardiogram machine…. No emotion, no life.  I have trouble showing emotion… like joy, and happiness.  I need to work on that.  How about you?  Maybe we could all take a lesson from our wives.  I know that God intends for us to “have joy” in our lives.  Not just because He made us in His Image, but, as shown in Psalms 144:15 – “Happy are the people whose God is the Lord.”  This would suggest to us that God created us so that we might turn to Him to find fulfillment, joy, contentment, and happiness… through our relationship with Him.  Happiness is an external condition that is created by worldly conditions, and joy is an internal condition that God created for us.  Joy, through God, will give us an abundance of worldly happiness.  ….Blessings….cjlb…6/26/14
