“…He wouldn’t recognize OPPORTUNITY if it hit him in the head….”

Bright Idea - 11-17-14GATEWAY TO O-P-O-R-T-U-N-I-T-Y: The “Gateway” is the opening of an opportunity, not just in Charleston, SC, Charlotte, NC, or Atlanta, Ga.; but anywhere. Every city has its own Gateway to Opportunity. Opportunities are abound; but not so for the timid. One must be forward, but cautious; demanding, but polite; tenacious, yet open minded; aggressive, but a tad sensitive.

Also, he MUST be extremely honest; and totally committed; all of which can be wrapped in kindness; and yes…love and compassion.  And….with that: you will find “your Gateway” of opportunity.  For we are told in … Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Some are given more opportunities than others.  Some others “foil” every opportunity given them.  We all have “certain gifts” from the Holy Spirit, but all are not the same.  We must, therefore, seek DISCERNMENT to discover our “special gifts.” We are lead to… Galatians 6:10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.  And… we are told in ….Colossians 4:5 – Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.

Some may think that “all of this BIBLE- STUFF” is for sissies. Think what you will…. But when opportunity passes you by… you might think differently.  Note that Ecclesiastes 9:11 tells us: The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.”

What is to be learned from this verse?  A time and OPPORTUNITY comes to us all.  It’s true, in our human existence, everyone gets their time and everyone gets their OPPORTUNITY.  Rather we accept it, embrace, or maximize these opportunities is up to each of us on an individual basis.  We all have our time and chance, things that we call OPPORTUNITY. Those who choose well, will enjoy the benefits, those that don’t…well, then…they won’t.   We’ve all heard the saying… “He wouldn’t recognize OPPORTUNITY if it hit him in the head.”  How about you?
