“…I feel if one acts in a sense of URGENCY, then he’ll…”

Image result for caricature of man in a sense of urgencyI live under a “cloud of URGENCY.” I suppose it is “part and parcel” with my ADDICTIVE personality. Everything is important to me….well, almost. It seems that way, at least. I’m a “do it now,” sort of guy. Sure, there are things that I don’t consider URGENT, and I’m fairly good at prioritizing things.

But still… I feel if one acts in a sense of URGENCY, then he’ll get going…on his project, his work, family issues, and play and social time, as well. Get organized…is my motto. Don’t leave a stone un-turned…is another one, along with: Don’t take NO for an answer, and as Churchill says: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER…give up.

All of these characteristics are forms of URGENCY. You know… we don’t have “all the time in the world” to do things. Do you realize, we are approaching April? We’re almost ¼ through the year 2015…already. Only 39 more weeks before Christmas. W-O-W, I’m not over last Christmas yet.

Sometimes, I think, we place a sense of URGENCY on the wrong issues. We get “all-wrapped-up,” in nonsensical things…things that don’t amount to a hill-of-beans, yet we, ME INCLUDED, get all bent out of shape, if we don’t get EXCITED about this or that. But, we’re failing to “get excited” about God.

The most important, and URGENT matter…GOD; we’re taking for granted. We’ve KICKED God out of the “Boardrooms of America.” We’ve kicked God out of our schools; and we wonder what’s wrong with our EDUCATIONAL standards, and results. We have turned to “idolizing” WORLDLY things. We worship celebrities, cars, boats, clothes, hair-styles, the latest fashions, and all that money can buy…and even…the MIRROR. We’re all wrapped up in OURSELVES.

Some will laugh at me, and that’s ok (I’m just doing my job)…God will not be MOCKED. We are clearly told in: Galatians 6:7-8 – The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. 7Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Our “sense of URGENCY” ought to be placed on “pleasing God.”….not ourselves….think about this: Revelation 1:3 – Blessed [is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time [is] at hand.
