“….I love to work, to sweat, to see the fruits of my labor…”

P1000203 - Charles Brooks 12-08-10Work…Toil…and Labor… I love to work, to sweat, to see the fruits of my labor.  As youngsters; my brother and I were tasked with cutting the yard.  He, knowing, that I was meticulous in my yard cutting skills; would ALWAYS cut the yard in some crazy pattern, so I volunteered to cut the entire yard, so I could cut his portion properly. He sat back doing nothing, while I was proudly cutting the entire yard; yet we both received the same wage.  2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 – For even when we were with you, we would give you this command:  If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.  For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busy bodies.  Now such person we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.  While there are people who get ahead without working in earnest; there is many times more who get ahead by employing good work ethics.  The hard worker is always in pursuit of a leadership role, as the prize of his efforts.  Then, there is always the one who sits on the sideline, with his hand out, waiting for his entitlements; and for some reason, unbeknownst to most reasonable thinking people, will get more than what he asks for.  Proverbs 14:23 – In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty. …Blessing…cjlb…10/3/13
