Be prepared. Know your subject. Study the game plan. Understand the parameters. Can you imagine going into a football game, say even, the State or Regional Championship Game; and the Quarterback not know his playbook. Or a construction company having the winning bid on a major shopping center complex and failed to examine the plans thoroughly; or the Governor approving the state budget without having read, even the first page, or the summary section? How about entering into a corporate merger in the millions of dollars without doing a due diligence, or getting married without having gone through pre-marital counseling. It makes no difference if it is a career issue, a social issue, entering college, getting married, or choosing a church to attend; if we have not studied the ramifications, or the parameters of the issue; then we are going into battle without our weapons. Yet, too often, we do just that. We get married on a whim without defining and reconciling our differences; we accept employment without proper training or preparation; we accept social invitations without having adequate funds; we join a local church because it’s closer to our home rather than fulfilling our spiritual needs; and we rely on a “so-so” relationship with our Creator, without proper preparation, training, or commitment. And, yet, we still expect to succeed in all of these areas without reading the instruction manual. As for our relationship with God, we can, and should, rely on the “training manual” to develop a sincere and positive relationship with God. That manual is called a BIBLE. The bible has the complete schematic of our spiritual requirements and needs, as it is fully inspired by God Himself. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 says – “and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” ….Blessings… cjlb… 8/1/14
