“…I’m asking… did our contribution have a positive, or significant, impact on those who received our contribution? Did they, or it, benefit from our contribution? That is the question…”

Image result for Caricature: Jesus: the greatest GiftCONTRIBUTIONS: Something that we give of ourselves to society, community, or family. What are we (that would be you…and me) contributing to our career, our family life, and our spiritual walk? And, more importantly… what are the results of that contribution?   Note… I didn’t say what the return (to us) was, rather… I’m asking… did our contribution have a positive, or significant, impact on those who received our contribution? Did they, or it, benefit from our contribution… such so, that their entire life… might be ‘forever changed?” That is the question.

Remember this: An action can only have value if the result is “positive.” Negative results have negative value. If we were hired by our company to provide a “certain skill,” then, in effect… we are making a promise, of sorts, to fulfill that skill as agreed, and… failing to produce that skill, places our integrity in question.

Likewise, when we make commitments to our marriage partner to provide for our family, to remain faithful, and to fulfill our marital agreement… and then, fail to do that (extenuating circumstances an exception), then we throw our commitment, and our word… into question.

Further… When we promise God that we will obey Him, to keep the faith, to observe the Sabbath, to Love our neighbor… and we fail to keep that promise… then we leave Him little choice. He will step back and let us falter, to fail, to learn, to experience life without Him.

God is a PATIENT God …He will wait us out. He is a Loving God, and we are His children, in which He made… in His own Image. He reminds us in… Matthew 7:24-27 – “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.  Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.  The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

Remember my friends:  Who made the greatest ‘contribution‘ in all of time?  And, all He asked for in return… is that we “believe in Him, that we Love Him, and that we Love our neighbors as ourselves.”

Caution…don’t let your house fall to the ground.

…Blessings… cjlb…1/8/17
