PAIN and SUFFERING: Do you have any of that? Why do you think that we must endure these various types of pain, suffering, setbacks, unemployment, divorce, sickness, and all other negative issues, or events, that too often, occur in our lives all throughout history?
The answer is simple …..So as to prepare us for the next life. That’s it. There are “no free lunches.” One of the “major ways in which we are able to ENDURE these obstacles is called…. ATTITUDE. So, it’s not the circumstance itself, rather, it is “how we react” to these circumstances…..it’s our Attitude! We are not alone…. As, many Biblical personalities endured various unfortunate circumstances, just as we do today. Joseph, David, Job….all of the Apostles, John the Baptizer….and, of course…JESUS CHRIST. They had “no access” to free lunches, either. The Bad the ATTITDUE, the WORSE the circumstances.
We are told clearly how God, through Jesus, deals with “pain and suffering,” in 1 Peter 5:10 – “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” James 1:12 – “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”
So we have an advocate in Heaven, who is clearly giving each of us the “support” we’re going to need to “endure the storm,” and that Advocate is Our Lord, Jesus Christ, “promises” us the CROWN of LIFE.
Matthew 5:10-12 – “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
