Here’s some “good-advice,” worth pondering, for people of ALL-AGES….call you Mother!! If your Mom is still alive, kicking, and carrying out her duties of….boss forever; then PLEASE, …STOP reading this, and call her…. Tell her how much you LOVE her, how much she’s meant to you all these years, that you wish you could see her more often, and then; ask “how the O’Man is doing.
Sounds SIMPLE? Well…. It is, or at least, it can be, if we want it to be so. I’ve heard, to DARN OFTEN…. “I’ve not spoken to my Mother in years…. Ever since she…..” Or, well we just don’t speak… she’s always trying to …. Then, well… my Mother and my darling wife….they just don’t see eye-to-eye…. And I had to choose… Have I hit a “soft-spot?”
The list goes on and on. We can…Always… find some reason to “not call Mom.” Well…. You might want to RE-THINK your values a bit. Proverbs 31:25-30 – Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.
I’m not going to get into the “process” of all the ways, whys, wherefores, and REASONS…. Good or bad…. As to why, and how, someone can JUSTIFY and IGNOR their children, parents, and sibling’s … holding GRUDGES, seemingly… FOREVER. There’s not enough TIME or SPACE to give credit to that argument.
We wonder, then, how the Nations of the World cannot get along…. It would seem that it starts at HOME. Somewhere, the BONDAGE has to STOP. Why not now…. Why not here… why not today?
As we approach Easter, and then MOTHER’S DAY, then FATHER’S DAY (we can’t leave O’Dad out)… we should “buckle-down” tighten our lips….and THANK GOD for our Mother’s, our Father’s, and our Siblings… TELL them A-L-L….”I Love you.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-22 – For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
… One day…. It will all be “too late.” …Blessings……cjlb…3/22/15
