“…Since I am ‘no-longer’ trying to IMPRESS anyone [not that I ever did], I don’t need the size wardrobe I have…”

Image result for caricature of man with closet for of clothesI remember my Dear Mother, who had “so many clothes” that she DIDN’T wear, but kept, swearing that “one-day” she would size-down enough to wear them again. Well, sadly, that NEVER happened.

Today… I look in my own closet, and NOTE that I have three basic slack sizes… 34, 36, and 38. I have something that will “fit any day.” One for “lean and mean” another for “comfortably round,” and one for “fat and sassy”   I don’t think that the lean/mean ones are much of a threat, as I don’t even want to weight 160-165 anymore; as one would have to look twice to see me; and wondering…. “what’s WRONG with him.”

With all that said; I don’t NEED all these clothes. I can cut down about 1/3 easily of them, and give them to those that NEED it. Same with shirts, and sport-coats. I simply don’t need the size wardrobe that I have (since I’m not trying to impress anyone… anymore [not that I ever did] ). Same with shoes… who in the world needs 40 pair of shoes?

The older one gets, the more they “settle” into wearing a “limited number” of the same clothes. I’ve just recently realized this. So, I’m going to “re-fit” some deserving guy(s) in a nice new wardrobe. Spring cleaning, is not just an “out-door” project. It works well for the closets, the attic, and the garage (and for some… the warehouse). I looked in my garage-store-room, and noted all the TOOLS, and yard equipment, that I have… um…too much. I’m getting rid of about ½ of all that “stuff;” as I’m surely not planning on using them. And, who NEEDS a big-ole-house, too? That’s another story. It is the time of year when spring cleaning — the annual deep cleaning of the home — pulls many people out of the winter doldrums into the buzz of new life. All things are being made new again. There is another deep cleaning that goes beyond washing and scouring and turning our living spaces upside down. Sometimes we need to spring clean our spiritual houses too. To stop and take a breath and give our internal living spaces a good strong scrubbing.

Psalm 51:10 – Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Isaiah 43:18-19 – Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 1:16 – Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil.

I’m cleaning out some “old-stuff” around my house “and body”C…. How about you? …Blessings…cjlb.. 4/4/15.
