“…Sugar coating “wrong-doing” will only change the taste…..it does not change the EFFECT…”

Image result for caricature of man "sugar-coating" something       WISDOM vs. SHORT-CUTS: … For those who have eyes to see, and ears to hear….be careful….”any kind of WRONG-DOING” is willful…no matter how you “brand” it.   Sugar coating “wrong-doing” will only change the taste…..it does not change the EFFECT.

You see….I’m “sugar-coating” it right now…. I should be calling “wrong-doing” what it is: A SIN….an act against God. There are no “short-cuts” to success, to a good marriage, to a sustaining career, to a good education, or, even, happiness. There many “wrong ways” of going about all of this, but only “one-right-way.”

Further… there are “no short cuts” to Heaven, either. Sure, Jesus did His part… and “it was NO-SHORT-CUT” for sure….it was death… the hardest way conceivable. But, the net effect of His dying on the cross for our SINS was a “short-cut” for us, because He died for them… not us. He took our place, so that we might have “life-ever-lasting.”

For our part, though, we have to BELIEVE that He died for our sins; we have to CONFESS our sins; we have to REPENT of our sins; and we have to CONVERT from bad stuff… to obeying His laws. And, for that…. There are “no—short-cuts.”

When it comes to ACHIEVING the PREFECT JOB, and the PREFECT MARRIAGE, and the PERFECT SOCIAL LIFE…and ENTERNAL LIFE in Heaven… there are “no-short-cuts.” In fulfilling the REQUIREMENTS of each of these pursuits…. There is no substitute for hard work, honesty, preparedness, training, fair-play (The Golden Rule), presentation, and Godly intent. And, belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior…. There are NO-SHORT-CUTS.

You see, when God made us in His Image, He gave each of us a “certain portion” of Gifts…one of which was WISDOM. Wisdom is not a condition to be learned, rather… it is a Gift from God; some have it… some do not. We can gain MORE WISDOM, by obeying God. And, this WISDOM, is going to be one of the main ingredients to making this whole process a bit easier on us. Simply… obeying God. Obeying the Ten Commandments. Living by the Golden Rule.

We are told in Matthew 22:36-40 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. So, if there is such a thing as a “short-cut-to-Heaven,” then this is it……LOVE!
