“…To further my point… the devil shops at the best stores, hangs around the “movers and shakers…”

Theatre Mask VectorsCan you learn good things from bad people?  Or, can you learn bad things from good people?  Should we stay away from people who are known to be “bad?” What did Jesus do?  Evil begets evil.  When you get in bed with a dog – you’re bound to catch fleas.  Where there’s smoke… there’s fire.  Bad fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree.   Back to the point.  I know of a fellow who was one of those guys who had a “sprinkled history,” of conning little ‘olé women out of their estates.  I never avoided him, but never did business with either.  He treated me with respect, and was always a perfect gentlemen.  But, I knew that he was rattlesnake at heart.  I learned four things from the rattle-snake.  How to be the ultimate gentleman.  How to be respectful.  How to dress for the occasion.  He was the ultimate in resilience.  I also knew another fellow, who went to Church regularly, hung around with people in “high-places,” also was an exquisite dresser, and was well respected in the community.  But underneath all of that was a scoundrel.  He stole you self-confidence, he treated his employees like dirt, and he had the vocabulary, and morals, of an alley-cat.  He led two lives.  To further my point… the devil shops at the best stores, hangs around the “movers and shakers,” will sweet-talk you into anything corrupt, will guide you down the primrose path, and will steal your soul.  So, the ol’saying… where there’s smoke…. There’s a fire…is worth paying attention to.  I think a governing factor is this:  How does he treat his wife, and children?  Do you see him on his knees …praying?  Does he do what he asks others to do?  Does he display a sense of compassion and humility?  If it’s YES to all of that…then, you’re probably safe (but be very careful…anyway)…. otherwise run the other way.  1 Corinthians 15:33 – Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” …Blessings…cjlb…5/29/14
