Power is an AWESOME responsibility. Some use their POWER for good of mankind. They make it their business to help others attain, and maintain, their goals, and to serve their fellow-man unselfishly. Then there are others who MISS-USE their power to arm others, to line their own pockets, and to serve their own selfish agenda.
Think of it this way… to whatever degree that one has power and authority over another; that is the same degree, to which, those others LACK power. This means… what POWER we allow others to have…. We give up that same amount of POWER. Great attention should be given to the selection, appointment, and the voting process that is available to us. All positions of power and authority are, eventually, subject to CHANGE. The lone exception is that of DIVINE AUTHORITY.
We American Voters seem to “care-less” who is in elective office. If you give creditability to the Jay-Walking segment on the former Leno Show; you will note that “too few of our youth” know little about who is in elective office. They don’t seem to know who, when, and what office is being served. Seemingly, they simply don’t care.
It is our generation that should INSTILL in our children and grandchildren the “need-to-know” mentality. We are failing our children, and they don’t even know it. They are being brought up in an “I don’t care society.” And the likely REASON is that “we don’t care.” The BOTTOM-LINE is that we have “kicked-GOD-out,” and routinely “elected or appointed” satan’s helpers. You’ve heard the saying….Garbage in…garbage out.
We have given “our power” over to those who “use it,” for their own SELFISH AGENDA. We as “the voters” should be pushing for TERM-LIMITS. This would, at least, began the process of “cleaning-house.” The process of “electing the next President” has begun; along with many other elective offices.
Take “your responsibility” serious; and KNOW your candidate. Know what he/she stands for; make sure that he/she is representing “your BEST interests,” and not their own. That said, if you’re happy with abdicating “your rights,” and handing “your POWER,” over to someone who abuses that power, then you get what you vote for. And, YOU, therefore, are RESPONSIBLE.
Psalms. 33:12 states, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.” Prov. 14:34, “Righteousness exhalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” We have a responsibility to compare the views of each candidate against the Bible scripture, and vote accordingly. If we “fail to vote,” then we forfeit the right to complain when elected officials enact laws which are contrary to the Godly principles.
Once a man has been elected to office, we also have the responsibility to pray for him. 1 Tim. 2:1-3 states, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be make for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.” And, then Proverbs 29:2 states, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
